This 200 square meter commercial restaurant, designed by Alireza Shafiei Tabar, draws inspiration from the client's desire for a vintage vibe. Extensive research of the local district and the client's taste led to the creation of a space that combines ethnic and high-tech elements with a subtle classic touch. The design team faced challenges such as the lengthy property of the lot, which spans two levels, and the incorporation of glass walls to bring a modern feel to the space.
The design process for Giovanni Restaurant involved the use of 3ds max and AutoCad to create the space without traditional stages such as plan and sections drawing. This bold approach allowed for the preservation of the originality and freshness of the design ideas.
The restaurant's design features brick walls, wall paper, cement, and carefully selected lighting to create a sense of lightness, joy, and causality. The use of masonry materials like brick also gives the space an old European-style ambiance. The fusion and synthesis of various design styles were approached creatively to ensure a harmonious combination.
Giovanni Restaurant is located in a high land value district of Tehran and took 4 months to complete. The design team conducted field surveys of other food and beverage concepts in the area to ensure that their design was unique and not repetitive. The restaurant menu offers Italian cuisine alongside dishes from all over Europe, providing a diverse culinary experience.
This design was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2018 in the category of Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design. The award recognizes well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. Giovanni Restaurant stands out for its integration of industry best practices, competent technical characteristics, and its contribution to a better world.
